When to use the Alticrome coating

ALUMINIUM AND ZAMAK DIE CASTING DIES
Alticrome was specifically developed for application on dies and components for aluminium and zamak die casting, in presence of high operating temperatures and abrasive and corrosive wear. Its low coefficient of friction and detaching properties allow a better flow of the casting material and a reduction of metallization, improving quality and facilitating the ejection of cast parts. Maintenance of the dies is significantly reduced.
GEAR TOOLSAlticrome is used with excellent results on HSS hobs and shaper cutters for gear toothing, where its properties allow optimum chip evacuation even at high cutting speeds. The possibility to systematically decoat, resharpen and coat again allows a particularly repetitive and reliable performance, which is very relevant for serial production.
SHEARING AND FORMING DIESAlticrome is suitable for application on dies for the shearing and the forming of ferrous materials, including highly alloyed ones, and stainless steels, as well as on bending and coining punches and dies.
PLASTIC MOULDSIt is used in the moulding of plastic materials loaded with glass or carbon fibres because of its excellent combination of hardness, slickness and resistance to corrosion.
