Specific coating to protect plastic moulds and their components from abrasive and corrosive wear.
Monolayer coating characterized by excellent adhesion to substrates and low structural tension.
Its features are: high toughness, good resistance to corrosion, anti-adhesive and detaching properties and a reduced coefficient of friction, all this together with a moderate hardness.
It can be deposited at low temperature, around 250 °C.

When to use the CrN coating
This coating is suitable for application on plastic and rubber moulds, to protect them from corrosive wear. It has a low coefficient of friction and an excellent detaching power over moulded parts.
Its low deposition temperature and excellent adhesion to substrates make it particularly suitable for application on Copper Beryllium alloys and in general on materials which cannot be coated at the normal PVD coating temperatures.
It is also suitable for application on chip removal tools for the machining of Copper, Copper Beryllium alloys, Aluminium Titanium alloys or Ampco Bronze.
