miniToolsCoating sharpens carbide and HSS stick blades in the different shapes and sections used for the cutting of spiral bevel gears.
We manufacture cutting profiles according to the summaries provided by the customer and check that sharpening repeatability in the series remain within a few microns from a MASTER. We sharpen on 2 or 3 faces:
- a 2-face sharpened profile allows subsequent resharpenings and preserves the coating on the front of the cutting edge. It is made on stick blades with a more complex structure, with a pre-built cutting angle;
- a 3-face sharpened profile allows to make the most of the application of the coating after sharpening; it is necessary in case of carbide stick blades.
Sharpening is made using the best technologies available: thermostated machines, with precision touch probes which control thermal drifts and grinding wheel wear.
In order to avoid overheating and burning of the material while grinding, specific grinding wheels are used for the roughing and finishing cycles.
After profiling, stick blades that require coating are covered with SILICUT for wet cutting and GearCut for dry cutting.
