Coating with high hardness and low friction

The TiCN coating is an evolution of TiN: Carbon is used as interstitial element in the TiN grid; this tensions the coating, highly increasing its hardness, but also its fragility.

The TiCN coating produced by miniToolsCoating is characterized by a particular graduation of the Carbon percentage in the layer, designed to offer a good toughness while preserving the peculiar hardness of this coating.

The presence of Carbon allows a reduction of the coefficient of friction, reduces the chemical affinity of the coating to non-ferrous materials and increases resistance to corrosion.

The presence of Carbon allows to effectively use TiCN until the operating temperature reaches 350°C, even at a local level.
